In real life, I like them fine because they eat the mosquitoes that pester. But when I see them magnified in photos, I find them creepy. Yours less so because we're not seeing the buggy eyes. I really like the composition, with the wings at a bit of a diagonal and also the great contrast between the post and background. Really nice shot!
Recently relocated. Owner of a massive pile of boxes, full and empty. Telecommutes most of the time so the "office" is anywehre I have a great internet connection and my portable hard drive.
Never seen one like it, beautiful.

ReplyDeleteI am loving all of the different takes on the dragon fly...very cool against this wood fence and love his shadow!
ReplyDeleteI think they're one of the coolest things on earth--ancient and fierce and delicate. Your photos does them justice!
ReplyDeleteVery nice. I like how one wing is hanging off the fence, so you can see through it. Did you train him to do this? :-D
ReplyDeleteI'm with Bobbie, they are amazing things and this is a fine shot.
ReplyDeleteMaybe you believed that thing about them sewing up your lips.
Never seen one like this before. Great capture.
